Qualified catering staff work within the home and endeavour to provide a variety of appetising, home-cooked and nutritious meals. Meals served include breakfast, lunch, evening tea, mid morning, afternoon and evening snacks. A range of beverages are also provided throughout the day. Food and beverages are also available outside regular service on request e.g. night-time.

Staff will visit each Resident daily to take requests for meals, taking into account individual dietary needs. Meals can be taken in the dining rooms, day rooms or in the Resident’s bedroom if preferred.



Menus are designed to meet the needs of our Residents. All meals are made fresh on the day of serving. The facility of a dining room is available on each floor of Cairnhill Nursing Home.

There are two dining room sittings for meal times every day with lunch served from 12.30pm and evening tea served from 4.30pm though meal times can be varied on request.  Each dining room offers a choice of mealtimes. Residents may choose where they would like to dine and arrangements can be made for room service in the privacy of the Resident’s bedroom.

In addition, our Chefs consult with Residents on a daily basis to ensure that personal tastes are accommodated and that they are satisfied with their meals.

Further Resident feedback on catering is sought at Residents’ Representative Group Meetings held every two months. We operate a full HACCP Quality Assurance standard kitchen and Residents with special dietary requirements (i.e. diabetes, coeliac and other conditions) are well catered for.
